Eventful LCFS Thirsty Thursday with Boo Skate

On the 7th of June, the Thirsty Thursday event at the London College for Fashion Studies welcomed Mr.Do Viet Anh , the Creative Director and CEO of Boo Skate Shop, to help us understand streetwear fashion in the Vietnamese market.

Streetwear plays an important role in our lives; this edition of Thirsty Thursday at the London College for Fashion Studies (LCFS) was all about all about streetwear! The event attracted lots of students. They have been waiting for the event for weeks eagerly in order to talk directly to the director of Boo Skate.

In the Thirsty Thursday 3rd edition, students who care for fashion, had a chance to discuss and listen to Viet Anh’s experience. With his devotion, indulgence of fashion and business, Viet Anh got the success he deserves in the streetwear market in Vietnam.

For LCFS’ students, the experience of Viet Anh is the precious information that they will refer to and apply in their future work. Mr. Viet Anh also gave students advice, such as focusing on studying at school as well as getting information from real life, specifically when setting up a brand-name, you need experience in business and management as well as fashion design.

The event got more exciting when the audience started asking him questions. And he answered the questions with honesty. There is no doubt he has experience in the business of streetwear.

At the end of the event at the London College for Fashion Studies, the students and lecturers came on stage and took some photos with the speaker.

LCFS’ students visited Duc Giang Garment Company

On the 22th of May, students from the London College for Fashion Studies Hanoi visited the production lines of Duc Giang Garment Company. This trip was very helpful to LCFS’ students, who had the chance to see the operating systems of the company.

During this trip, students visited all the different sections such as design, cloth laying, cutting, sewing chain, embroidery section and finishing. Most of the students were positively surprised by the company and very interested in this visit. They had the opportunity to learn more about the fashion market in Vietnam as well as know and understand the requirements of the garment enterprise.

The students also did not forget to bring their cameras to take a lot of pictures of the work in the company. Students also took note of important information during the trip, so they could apply them directly at the college.

This is one of the real-life examples that London College for Fashion Studies Hanoi organizes. And this trip was part of the curriculum which allows students to better understand the fashion industry in Vietnam. Therefore, they can orient their works appropriately when they graduate from college.
